Summarizing Roxy

Roxanne "Roxy" Pelligrini

Before joining The Misfits, Roxanne ran away from her Philadelphia home and dropped out of school. She later discovered her love of music and took up bass guitar, becoming an integral member of the band. Roxy has a noted fear of heights and often "clashes" with fellow bandmate Jetta. In her free time she enjoys learning to read with her tutor, Ba Nee, of the Starlight Foundation. But Roxy's truest passions are shredding the bass and looking fierce; she excels at both.

Cruel Summer

Last night I made a really cool discovery: Roxy can wear Barbie clothes! Well, for the most part. Some of the pieces fit a little oddly, but not so much that they can't be adjusted. This got me wondering what other doll clothes she could wear. Monster High is obviously out. But she wore my vintage Tuesday Taylor disco outfit well. Vintage Francie pieces work, too. Ditto vintage Jem. I haven't tried her in Pullip yet -- I have a feeling that'll be a no-go. As for shoes, most of the MH ones seem to work! So I threw together a summery outfit for Roxy to wear today and headed outdoors for some photos. She's wearing a Barbie top and jacket (they're actually one piece), vintage Francie denim shorts with blue and white belt, ILF Frankie's knee socks and sandals, and Roxy's own bracelets and earrings. She carries a couple of different MH purses -- mostly DDG Spectra's (I like how Roxy can actually hold it, and the chains match her jewelry), but in a few shots she grabbed Scaris Ghoulia's small travel case (again, she holds it well, and it matches the outfit). I'm not entirely sure the knee socks work for Roxy, but they at least match the outfit. All in all I'm pretty pleased with this look for our favorite white-haired rock vixen. It shows a completely different side to her personality, I feel. Take a look...

I hope I don't burn you guys out on Roxy before I even get my review written. I just can't seem to stop taking pictures of her! Review is coming soon, though -- I promise!

Random Access Roxy (RAR)

I was talking to a friend earlier today and he asked me when I was going to post the Integrity Roxy review. The only response I had was "I don't know. Hopefully soon!" The fact of the matter is this is my first Integrity doll and, put simply, I'm beyond impressed with her. When I review Roxy I want to do her justice. And I'm just not sure yet how I'm going to approach it. The other thing is, I'm still getting a feel for how Roxy photographs. Every doll line is different, every doll photographs differently. This being my first Integrity doll, I'm still trying things out on her. I want to capture as best I can all the little details that make Roxy so special. Today I photo'd her in the kitchen, breaking the cardinal doll photography sin of using a flash. It was an experiment. But I thought I'd share the pics here. After all, that's why I started The Sequel -- to post whatever I pleased. No rules! Anything goes! Anyway, here's more of Miss Pelligrini...

Updated: ROXY HAS LANDED

So that tell-tale package arrived today! And I actually managed not to bowl over the mail carrier grabbing the package from her! It was a rare moment of restraint that I'm quite proud of. Anyway, Roxy is here and she's... well, I'm not saying what she is just yet! I know, I'm such a tease. I snapped these pics almost immediately after de-boxing her, so they're far from polished. Her hair needs a mild wash and trim. And she's not wearing her jewelry or carrying her ax. An in-depth overview a la my MH reviews is coming soon...

Music tonight is an oldie but goodie from my current musical obsession...

UPDATE: Since I can't seem to stop taking pictures of this lady, here's more Roxy. This time with guitar and jewelry!
